The Business

Return Property Services is a fast-growing construction and refurbishment company located in West Hampstead, London.  Our office is a fun place to be and that’s mainly because everyone in the team believes in the mission and is seriously good at what they do. Our growth and ambitious plans now require a full-time Estimator / Buyer to join the team as soon as possible.


Estimation – To organise site surveys, produce priced tenders that are accurate, clearly detailed, competitive and returned within deadlines. Maintain good relationships with prospective clients and professionals to promote further tender invitations and provide clearly identified price build-ups to the Contract team.

Buyer – will have the opportunity to assist the construction delivery team by overseeing the supply chain and the procurement of all materials.

It is essential that you have prior experience in working with refurbishment, fit out, and planned maintenance projects with values of £20k to £500k. Support and work within a busy team of Contract Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Director.

• Estimating costs and Pricing a wide range of works, from planned maintenance, fit out and refurbishment.
• Preparing quotations, budgets and tender returns
• Completion of tender documentation and submission of the tender
• Researching material costs and undertaking purchasing, making savings where possible
• Engage and obtain specialist sub-contractor / material quotes – analyses / compare and summarise.
• Responsible for maximising value to Return Property Services through the effective procurement of materials and/or subcontract packages.
• Placement of comprehensive orders that protect the commercial interests of the business.
• Responsible for ensuring that subcontractor and/or supplier performance is measured and improved.
• Identifying potential new suppliers and bringing them on stream
• Monitoring supply chain and upgrading suppliers to preferred status when necessary.
• Resolving disputes and account queries between suppliers and the company.

• 2 + years’ experience as an estimator and buyer within the construction industry (Essential)
• Good understanding of estimating and buying of materials within the residential and commercial construction industry (preferred)
• Good knowledge & experience of procurement packages
• Be a clear and confident communicator with subcontractors and suppliers
• Ability to negotiate and improve margin
• Have great organisational skills.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages e.g. Excel, Word, Project
• Enthusiastic and ambitious with the ability to work on your own initiative.
• Ability to work flexible hours, excellent attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent numerical and written skills
• Good technical knowledge and understanding of building materials
• Construction related qualification desirable but not essential.
